I have seen similar reporting, and I don’t know where this is coming from. Aside from the conversations surrounding the generic statement, I’m not aware of our office (or any component of DOJ) making a statement like this, and our only communications have been with , the UK attaché, who asked us a few questions about whether (we said it was not).¶

Do you know the answer to question? There is a generic comment from a U.S. government official that “The U.S. and the U.K. have a close, productive… relationship.” I know we reviewed and approved that comment. But I think she must be asking about the below paragraph. Any idea what that would be from?¶
