I have seen similar reporting, and I don’t know where this is coming from. Aside from the conversations surrounding the generic statement, I’m not aware of our office (or any component of DOJ) making a statement like this, and our only communications have been with , the UK attaché, who asked us a few questions about whether (we said it was not).

Do you know the answer to question? There is a generic comment from a U.S. government official that “The U.S. and the U.K. have a close, productive... relationship.” I know we reviewed and approved that comment. But I think she must be asking about the below paragraph. Any idea what that would be from?

Andrew has repeatedly claimed that he has offered to cooperate with the inquiry, however the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has previously told The Daily Beast that they want to talk to him, but have not been able to.
