• IG Empowerment Act of 2016
  • o Gives DOJ-IG access to all GJ materials
  • o sent it to us (with highlights); we will pass along to and discuss
• Looking into whether there was a policy violation or administrative failure in not providing Epstein with a cellmate
• Discussion of and other witnesses’ statements re Epstein having a cell mate
• does not yet have handwritten notes
• Timing
  • o IG wants report done ASAP
  • o will express to IG our desire that anything they write comes out after the trial; our Office can also make a formal request to IG about timing, if necessary
• Witness names
  • o In Oversight Review Division, long reports with all names
  • o In Investigations Division (where. is helping out on this report), different approach; using titles, not names
  • o Does not believe that he will be citing any inmate testimony
  • o In any public version, do not believe that most MCC employees will be named, but we should confirm
