Emails between FBI and a victims' attorney about the Epstein victims' fund, June 2020

Emails coordinating a federal victim services division's contact information and statement approval for a compensation program for Epstein's victims, launching June 2020.Machine-written summary

I trust VSD will make the appropriate statement, however, given the scrutiny on this case I would like to run any statements made regarding Epstein by NY EM, CDC, and SDNY prior to release.

Hello NY,

Due to this being an on-going investigation, if there is any sort of statement made by VSD in regards to services, would you like to have it run by your CDC? If VSD goes that route, we’ll run it by our OGC rep as well as OPA. Let me know if you have any opinions about it either way.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly yesterday. The Epstein Victims’ Compensation Program would like to include the FBI Victim Services Division contact information in the materials provided to victims so that victims know that the FBI is a resource for them, both for services and to provide information that they have that may be helpful in the course of an investigation. While I am sure they would include a short statement if you are able to put one together and provide it today, they are specifically looking for the correct contact information to provide victims who would like to contact Victims Services. The Program is beginning on June 25, so they are finalizing their materials today.

I am around all day if anyone would like to discuss.

Thank you,

Just a few more questions -

  • Is this going to be published on a website or a press release?

  • Like asked, what information are you wanting Victim Services Division to provide?

Once we have more information, I’m more than happy to work with to draft a document and release it after NY and VSD HQ approve. If it will end up on a website or press release, we will most likely need to have this vetted through OPA as well.

Hi - I am in the process of speaking to my supervisor about our earlier conversation; but I wanted to make sure I’m getting the correct information back to you.

I just spoke to - and we wanted to ask what exactly are they looking for just a contact? Or a statement about the providing information and/or victim services available.

To confirm this will be announced this Wednesday correct? And do you know where this will be published at?
