Jail email on voluntary versus mandatory overtime shifts, August 14, 2019

Internal jail staff email discussing voluntary and mandatory overtime coverage for August 9–10 shifts, noting union sensitivities about how the data is used.Machine-written summary

Subject: RE: Fri/Sat OT

Date: Wed, 14 Aug 2019 14:51:11 +0000

Importance: Normal

Attachments: TEXT.htm

We have confirmed that all the OT below were voluntary except for one on Saturday - Officer Noel. Please note that when using this info, if it is used against the union we run the risk that the union may instruct staff to stop volunteering which would force us to mandate everyone. I hope that would not happen, but they are unpredictable.

Good, thanks for sending tonight. Yes, pls let us know the voluntary vs. mandatory break out, thks.

pulled the following to answer one of your questions:

Friday 8/9/19 4pm to 12am, 21 post, 20 staff present, 6 overtimes Saturday, 8/10/19, 12am to 8am, 19 post, 18 staff present, 10 overtimes

has the Warden getting us the number of mandates vs volunteer OTs for the above.
