Got it - I’ll be sure to let know. Are you good with the DVRs that were seized being transferred to OIG for their pending investigation rather than given back to BOP?

I believe there’s pending FOIA litigation, so we shouldn’t dispose of any evidence. If there are records that you want to transfer to OIG, that’s fine. We just shouldn’t dispose of anything and neither should they.

Thanks,

It’s been a while since we’ve talked - so, I hope all is well your way! I am closing out the case file for the Epstein death investigation/Noel and Thomas investigation. However, I have to either return evidence, destroy evidence, or transfer custody of the evidence to another agency (in this case, OIG) in order to close out the case. I have had multiple conversations with and OIG would like to take custody of all digital evidence (which is mostly the DVRs and derivative evidence obtained from the DVRs from MCC) - so, I’m going to gather all of that together and hand it off. Previously, we had all agreed to hand over to BOP, but in light of ongoing investigations, OIG would like to take it.

As far as the other evidence, there are the papers and miscellaneous items (MP3 Player, etc) that were found in Epstein’s cell, the torn sheet and clothing that was given to OCME for the autopsy, and the copy of the download of Michael Thomas’ iPhone. If you believe that we should keep any of the evidence, I can seek the proper approvals to keep the evidence while still closing out the case. Just let me know what you think is the best way to go about this - Thanks!
