Prosecutor email coordinating interviews of jail staff after Epstein's death, Aug. 2019

Yes, we will send them to you tonight.

Ok understand. Do you have subpoenas for each readily available?

If they invoke, we stop the interview and serve them with a subpoena. We are asking OIG not to identify themselves during the interviews. If OIG compels the interview then we cannot use it in a criminal case.

If they have a right to lawyer as per their contract and invoke that , how would you like to proceed. It’s my understanding OIG can compel them to speak as per the Federal contract, not us

All, as discussed with Amanda, we need to interview these people tomorrow. The ones with the star are the most urgent. Once you guys have a sense of logistics, let’s get on a call to discuss the interviews. They need to be Mirandized and given 1001 warnings. We will send you subpoenas as well.
