On August 9, 2019, at approximately 1:37 p.m., while conducting routine duties inside the 9 South Visiting Room Staff observed a female visitor produce an unknown object from her waistband and hand it to inmate . Staff immediately entered the visiting room and instructed inmate to stand, he was then escorted from the scene to the visual search area without incident. Inmate was instructed to relinquish the item, however inmate continued to deny he was in possession of any contraband. Inmate was photographed and medically examined and with no apparent injuries identified. Inmate was visually searched with negative results and provided a urinalysis test. Inmate was observed by staff pouring water into the testing cup.. Inmate was placed on dry cell status. The visitor was escorted to the lobby where she was detained and questioned and later released. There were no staff injuries reported.¶
