Subject: Fwd: FW: USAO Epstein Press Conference Date: Wed, 29 Jan 2020 02:13:14 +0000 Importance: Normal I have not seen or heard the contents of the press conference but it is my understanding that it had nothing to do with the Epstein case. It was simply a press conference to raise awareness for human trafficking. I can't imagine who thought it was a good idea to do it in front of Epsteins house and I think that showed extremely poor judgment. However, I do not believe the case was discussed in any detail with the exception of one remark about Prince Andrew. I am confident that the prosecution team was not aware of this press conference, and was equally as upset as we were. I mentioned the press conference to the SAC and the ADIC today and they were not pleased. https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/speech/us-attorney-geoffrey-s-berman-speaks-press-conference-hosted-safehorizon-raise **Sent:** Tuesday, January 28, 2020 5:42 PM This was a clear communication failure on the part of the USA/O. It was a planned press conference, cosponsored/hosted by Safe Horizons, held in front of Epstein’s house. I would like to let the victims know that any issues or concerns that they have about not being notified should be directed to the USAO. If they ask, to whom specifically should they voice their concerns? EFTA00148125 I spoke with and this wasn’t a planned press conference. Apparently, SDNY/FBI had no idea this was going to happen. The USAO was out and media asked him a question about Prince Andrew and he made a statement. That is all I have, but I’m cc’ing for her awareness.
